Luxury Lodge Trek In Annapurna With Wildlife Safari

A gentle walk in the low-lying hills fringing the Valley of Pokhara, designed for the first time trekker, culturally rich in village life, one passes through an ever increasing magic in the build-up of mountain views till a climax at the peak of Poon Hill on the third
day of the trek.

Itinerary

  • Day 01: Arrival in Kathmandu airport. Reception and transfer to hotel.
  • Day 02: A.M. Sightseeing tours to Kathmandu PM: A briefing will be held for all the participants to discuss the program and other relevant details.
  • Day 03: AM: Fly to Pokhara, drive to Naya Pul. We drive for about an hour along the Seti River valley from Pokhara to the trek start point. The path follows a ridge in the lower foothills of the Annapurnas where there are good views of the mountains and Pokhara valley. The route then descends towards the Modi valley through bamboo and terrace farmland. The Sanctuary Lodge is located a few miles from Birethanti village overlooking the Modi river. The lodge is a typical Kerr and Downey set up with comfortable sitting room, dining room and attractive gardens. After lunch at Sanctuary lodge you have the afternoon to explore the area or to relax in the gardens.
  • Day 4. Trek to Himalaya Lodge, Ghandrung (2,012m)- 5 to 6 hours walking. After breakfast we start with a climb to Ghandrung village. The trail passes through more terraced farmland and into rhododendron and oak forests. After 3 hours you pass through the village of Kimche (1,554m) where we stop for lunch. After lunch there is a further climb to Ghandrung at just over 2,000m. The Himalaya lodge is a 19th century Gurung village house with a pleasant reception area, dining room and open fireplace.
  • Day 5. Day walk from Himalaya Lodge, Ghandrung.
    Today we explore Ghandrung and the surrounding area. There are good views from here of Annapurna South and Machapuchare.
    Day 6. Trek to Gurung Lodge in Majgaun (1,400m)- 5 to 6 hours walking. Today the trail follows the route down from the Annapurna Sanctuary and after several hours you will arrive at Shauli Bazaar. From here, we follow the the Modi River until the cable bridge that we crossed on the first day. It is a two hours walk uphill to the village of Majgaun and the Gurung Lodge.
  • Day 7. Trek to Basanta Lodge in Dhampus (1,554m)- 5 hours walking.
    After breakfast we start the walk through forests of oak, rhododendron and silver birch with incredible views of Annapurna South, Hiunchuli and Lamjung. The path soon levels out and reaches Pothana village, from here it is downhill to Dhampus and the Basanta lodge. This lodge, like the Himalaya Lodge, is based on an old Gurung village house and from its garden there are superb views of the Fishtail peak and the Annapurna range.
  • Day 8. Trek to Phedi and drive to Pokhara- 1 ½ hours walking.
    After breakfast on the lawn, we leave Dhampus and descend to the Pokhara valley passing more villages and terraced fields. There is a short drive from Phedi back to Pokhara.
  • Day 09: After breakfast, drive for four hours to Royal Chitwan National Park. The National Park is one of the prime habitat of the Royal Bengal Tiger. Along river banks in the Park, is a spot where two species of crocodiles, the Gharial and the Marsh Mugger may be sighted, basking in the sun round the year. Animals frequently seen include the Great One-horned Asian rhinoceros, Himalayan sloth bear, spotted deer, hog deer, barking deer, sambar and wild boar. Besides, one gets to see many of the larger and attractive species of birds such as the Bar Headed Gees, Mallard, Pintail, Pochard, Darter and the Ruddy Shelldrake along with the 450 species or so of birds that inhabit Park. Our program during your stay at Chitwan National Park has been designed in such a way so as to make your stay enjoyable and exciting at the same time. However, viewing of wildlife at their best require early morning and late afternoon excursions which is a matter beyond our control, and guests are advised to comply with proposed schedules for their own advantage.
    2 nights/3 days Tentative Schedule
    Arrive, meet and transfer to the Lodge. On reaching the lodge, our Guest Relations Officer will brief you. Lunch will be served after check-in. PM:.- Elephant Safari/Jungle Walk/Nature Walk with Boat Ride
  • Day 10: AM.- Wake Up Call, followed by tea/coffee then either a Bird Watching hike/ Elephant Safari/Jungle Walk Breakfast. Crocodile Walk. A 45 minutes walk through grassland and forest along the riverside. Board boats to observe crocodiles along the banks while floating back to the camp. Lunch PM: Elephant Safari/Jungle Walk/Nature Walk
  • Day 11: AM.-Wake Up Call followed by tea/coffee. Bird Watching/Elephant Safari/Jungle Walk Breakfast 0900 AM:.-Departure transfer to Kathmandu. Rest of day at leisure. Overnight at Hotel.
  • Day 12: Free till departure transfer to airport.
