The Kathmandu-Ama Dablam Base Camp-Kathmandu trip kicks off with an exciting flight on a Twin Otter to the airstrip in the Himalayas at Lukla. Then, we follow the footsteps of famous Everest climbers along the trail to Namche Bazaar. We are now in a Buddhist Sherpa country. Here you come across colorful prayer fags, carved main walls, and ornate monasteries along the way. The trek takes you to some of the prettiest Sherpa villages and on to Namche Bazaar. Namche Bazaar is the colorful, vibrant heart of Sherpa country. One of the highlights of the trek is a visit to the famous Tengboche Monastery in the Khumbu region. This monastery was partially destroyed by fire in the 1980s and rebuilt soon after. The trail takes you through beautiful Nepalese villages with scintillating views of the Khumbu and Everest regions. A moderate trek designed for the first-time trekker, it follows a section of the classic Everest Base Camp trail. The mountain views are stunning as famous peaks like Everest, Ama Dablam and Thamserku appear to be within touching distance. Reaching Ama Dablam Base Camp, we will get an opportunity to enjoy the spectacular view of the mountains.
