Get ready for cycling Hilly, Mountain, and Terai to explore splendid nature and rich culture.

Kathmandu, Chitwan, and Pokhara biking trip are the most exciting and exotic and features the natural, cultural, historical, and religious places of interest. This trip takes you exhilarating uphill and downhill passing through lush forests, magnificent Himalayan ranges, legendary temples, monasteries, and traditional villages in serene and lush surroundings. The trip takes you to Bhaktapur, Dakshinkali, Dama, Hetauda, Chitwan, Tansen, Jomsom, Marpha, Tatopani, Pokhara, and Kathmandu valley.

Trip Itinerary

Day 01: Arrival Kathmandu and transfer to Bhaktapur

Our representative will pick you up from Kathmandu Airport and transfer you to Bhaktapur Durbar square for check in. You have time to take rest and relax. Our representative team will be briefing you about biking activities and schedule.

Day 02: Bhaktapur Sightseeing

Bhaktapur is known as city of devotes and rich in its magnificent architecture; pagoda style temples, fine clay pottery, old palaces and museum. After breakfast we visit UNESCO heritage sites. We will have lunch break after tour then back to hotel to check the bike. After that you can have a couple of hour ride and sightseeing with our guide around Bhaktapur area.

Day 03: Ride to Dakshinkali (38km)

We start our bike ride towards Godawari through Lubhu (Lalitpur) and Surya Binayak (Bhaktapur). Lubhu is located southwest of Patan along a rough path passing brick-making factories with their small chimneys. You can see the surrounding in rural setting along the way. Other more interesting sights you will come across are hand-made cloth and textile production mills.

Leaving Bhaktapur behind, we head towards north-west on jeep tracks and single tracks, passing rice fields along the tranquil forest of Phulchowki on our way to Godawari. Godawari is known as hiking and bird watching destination with abundance of wildlife and splendid atmosphere. Likewise this place is popular for its Botanical Garden which holds importance for scientific research and observation. Due to its appealing landscape bounded by evergreen natural forest it is equally popular among domestic and international tourists. From Godawari, we continue our cycling on the jeep track into Chapagaon village which offers amazing vistas of Kathmandu Valley and you get to see sacred Vajrabarahi temple. We move towards South traverse over Lele River and ascend short steep climb up on a jeep track and descend towards Bungamati. Bungamati is a typical Newari village popular for the number of master woodcarvers, sculpture producers, agriculture, livestock and fishing. In addition, there is popular deity called Machhindranath which is considered as god of rain, agricultural prosperity and revered by both Hindus and Buddhists. We then pass to the Ganesh Temple after crossing the suspension bridge over Bagmati River. The sealed Dakshinkali road strings together some fascinating cultural sights and we gradually ride uphill. Dakshinkali temple is dedicated to the goddess Kali, a popular Hindu pilgrimage destination.

Day 04: Ride to Daman (59km)

Today we ride through the gravel path to Kulekhani via Tamang village. You can see typical Nepalese lifestyle and visit the largest hydro power and man-made lake in Nepal. We continue through the hydro dam and up to Daman which takes 2 hours to reach uphill from there and stay overnight at Daman (2400m).

Day 05: Ride to Hetauda (52km)

We continue our ride and along the way you can enjoy viewing spectacular 400 km panoramas of Himalayas which extends from Annapurna to Everest. The ride offer amazing sights over the Terai to India. From the peak you can see bird-eye view of steep slopes of the Mahabharata Lekh which is route to the Terai, the low plains of Nepal.

We enjoy the downhill ride through pine and rhododendron forests and we reach on the way to semi-tropical vegetation where you would find humid air. You come across villages cling to isolated hill tops but as we reach the Terai we can see many picturesque villages. On the way you can see stray animals and children playing. After a while we take a ride along the snake road down to the ground which is nearly 2,000m below. The town of Hetauda (455m) is situated at middle of the hill and we will wrap up our cycling tour in Hetauda.

Day 06: Ride to Chitwan (71km)

Today we are going to ride in flatter path because we are now in Terai region with hot subtropical plains. The ride offer various types of trees like Sal (hard wood) and Kal (silk cotton) along the road to the Royal Chitwan National Park, the one of the World Heritage Site

At Tadi, the route divert onto a dirt track to the periphery of the Sauraha Park. Tonight we will stay at a hotel in the park which is the largest and most popular wilderness in Nepal, and covers a pristine area with a unique ecosystem. It is habitat of more than 43 species of mammals, particularly endangered one-horned rhinoceros and Bengal tigers, 450 species of birds, 45 types of amphibians and reptiles. In the evening our guide will brief you about tomorrow’s activities.

Day 07: Various activities in Chitwan

Today we will do different activities in Chitwan which are as follows:

Canoeing: We will set our journey down the Rapti River in a traditional ‘dug-out canoe’ and you get to see exotic species of birds and animals come right to the river’s edge to drink and bathe.

Jeep safari: You will get opportunity to get a closer view of spectacular wildlife that includes the greater one-horned rhinoceros, spotted deer, Sambar deer, barking deer, gharial crocodiles and a vast range of birdlife. If you are lucky you may even glimpse a leopard, sloth bear, or Royal Bengal tiger.from a safe vantage point.

Guided jungle walk or drive:

You are escorted by an experienced naturalist who will explain you about the park and its flora and fauna.

Bird watching:

Morning starts early bird watching activities where you walk through wilderness and along the Rapti River, with to observe great number of colorful bird species including the Giant Hornbill, Lesser Florican and Paradise Flycatcher.

Tharu Cultural Show:

Tharu dance is a unique performance performed by Tharu ethic group. You will get opportunity to observe and participate in the colourful dances with traditional costumes and music.

Village Tour:

The village tour offer close view of the Tharu culture and experience their usual lifestyle and activities and local customs.

Day 08: Ride to Butwal (130km) to Lumbini by bus/car

We set off our 13 km cycling journey to Tikauli forest through Bishajari Lake till we reach Mahendra highway. We will pass Mahendra Highway paved road and take a lunch break at Dawene by riding 72 km. (We have option to ride a bike until Butwal which is about 45km) We then transfer to Lumbini, the birthplace of Lord Buddha by vehicle.

Day 09: Drive Butwal and ride to Tansen (39km)

Today we will visit Lumbini Buddha garden and then we drive through rural Nepal to give us a glimpse of village life in the Terai lowlands till to Butwal and stop there for lunch. We continue our ride from here to Tansen, the old Newari city which is well-known for its traditional architecture and spectacular views of the Himalayas. After that we ride through the old valley through the way of Tansen where the path is steeper.

Day 10: Ride to Pokhara

We have thrilling descent on a windy road that takes us down to the Siddhartha Highway. We have a gradual ascend to Galyang, followed by 2 hours ride and drive to Pokhara.

Day 11: Leisure time in Pokhara

You have leisure day where you can relax or do sightseeing around Pokhara.

Day 12: Flight to Jomsom and ride to Kagbeni (14km)

We take early morning 20 minutes scenic flight to Jomsom from Pokhara. The flight offers aerial view of Pokhara valley, majestic Dhaulagiri and Annapurna range. Once we land we will have a tea break and get bikes ready for the journey. We will continue our easy acclimatization ride on flat road of 14km to the beautiful Tibetan village of Kagbeni.

Day 13: Ride to Muktinath through Jhong (18km)

Today we depart from beautiful village of Kagbeni and continue our ride uphill to Muktinath We follow the trail on the north side of the gorge and ascend on a dusty jeep track towards Throng La Pass. We stop and explore the ancient monastery at Jhong and take lunch break where you can enjoy the magnificent mountain backdrop. After lunch we head towards Muktinath and spend some time exploring the sacred Monastery and Temples.

Day 14: Ride to Marpha (26km)

We have to start early as it gets windy after 11 am that lead ride bit more challenging. We ascend slowly to Lupra pass after an hour ride where you can see splendid backdrop of the Dhaulagiri and Annapurna Range. After Lupra pass we descend downhill till to dirt road of Jomsom There is also single track options for experienced riders. Enjoy the moment where the Himalayan wind strike in your face and miles of downhill before your wheels. You ride along the river Valley which extends 6km to Jomsom followed by wobble trails along the river to Marpha. It can be a bit tough riding when it’s windy however you can stop by and simply enjoy the scene along the way. We take lunch break in Jomsom. We stay overnight in the beautiful and ancient town of Marpha. Marpha is famous for apple orchard and apple brandy which will help to provide trekkers with sound sleep on the freezing nights along the trail.

Day 15: Ride to Tatopani (42km)

Today mostly we take downward trail to Tatopani. We ride gently through pine forests and small villages. We follow the river along the way where you can see spectacular vistas of the snowcapped peaks. We will stop for lunch at Rukse Chaahara waterfalls. After lunch we continue the trail then descends some 1000 meters with extensive twist and plunges and rocky areas. After bumpy ride we reach at Tatopani, the cobble lined village which is popular for its natural Hot Springs. You can enjoy rrefreshing bath in the steaming waters which is considered as medicinal and healing powers.

Day 16: Ride to Beni (23km) and to Pokhara by bus/jeep

Today we take a ride around 23 km on open jeep track with flat and a few up and down hills. We transfer by jeep from Beni and back to Pokhara. You have a time to unwind. We have the option to ride down to Pokhara from Naudhada.

Day 17: Fly back to Kathmandu and sightseeing program

We take early morning flight to Kathmandu from Pokhara. You have time to relax and freshen up for a while and our guide will take you to the World heritage sites tour such as Pashupatinath and Boudhanath. In the evening you spend your time doing shopping.

Day 18: Fly back home

You will be assisted by our staff in a vehicle and transferred to TIA airport in Kathmandu from where you will take your flight back home.
