In the Mustang area, ATMs are available in places like Jomsom and Muktinath, with Jomsom being the main commercial center offering banking services. However, ATMs are limited until you reach Muktinath. Lo Manthang and Kagbeni have private bank branches but no ATMs. It is recommended to carry Nepali Rupees, as tea house owners and locals typically only accept NPR. Given the limited infrastructure, it’s wise to withdraw cash in Kathmandu before starting your trek. You may need extra cash for charging devices, boiled water, and hot showers.
