The accommodation on the Makalu Base Camp Trek is quite basic. Teahouses along the trek provide rooms with beds, blankets, and pillows, but it’s a good idea to bring your own sleeping bag for extra warmth, as the provided blankets may be insufficient. Rooms with attached bathrooms and hot showers are not available, though you can request a bucket of hot water for an additional fee. Most teahouses provide twin-sharing or dorm-style rooms, and common areas are heated by a bukhara stove.
